Jackie's operation

Jackie was taken to the operating room about 1 PM and at 3:30PM Jaime called to say that one of the doctors came to the waiting room to inform them that the by-pass operation was successful. They were going to wait another 20 or 30 minutes to wake her up. We thank the Lord for His faithful care over Jackie and Jaime, and pray that she has a quick recovery.

Jackie

Jackie has been mentioned here on the blog over the last couple of years, and you can click here to see the last picture I posted of her and Jaime, and the situation at that time a year ago. Since then they moved to northern Portugal and her overall health condition has not improved. Two stents put in her heart in October last year were insufficient; her diabetes remains uncontrollable; her kidneys are on the verge of failure. Two weeks ago she suffered a mild heart attack, and the cardiologists that saw her later in the week said she was due for a massive heart attack, one which, if not fatal, would likely leave her "like a vegetable".  The only other option is open heart surgery, which itself is very high risk, due to her kidney deficiency and diabetes, but given the choice, Jackie has decided to go through with the operation. We found out today that it is scheduled for tomorrow (Friday morning, first thing). Many of you who peek in here at the blog on a regular basis will probably only do so after the operation. By then you will get a report of how it went. In any event, please pray.

Other news: There's a lot to report, which should be coming up in the next day or two, but I wanted to get this posted today. Thank you for faithfully praying for us and the work.
