A Couple of Reasons (only)

If I were to list all the reasons (or, excuses, if you prefer) why I haven't shown up around this blog, I would never get anything posted tonight. So, I'll just give two: 1) translation jobs that haven't given me a bit of breathing room---interrupted only to do the essential work at the consulate and keep the services at the church going; 2) although it may not be apparent, I have begun to prepare some changes in the layout of this page and there's still a ways to go to achieve what I have in mind. If you stop by and find everything in a mess, don't give up. Sooner or later, I'll get it straightened out.

News item #1: Thursday was a holiday here in Portugal, and I spent most of the day in bed. A touch of flu, or something. It doesn't count as reason #3, because if I had been feeling well, I would have been doing translations and not working on the blog, anyway.

News item #2: the services today (yesterday, already) were very blessed. Marcia came back Saturday from the mainland, where she had spent a month doing radiation treatments. It wasn't because she was back in the evening service, but the fact is that the church house was full, with not enough seats for everyone who was there. We've been praying that God's Spirit would move among us and stir hearts. He did.
